LPG Conversion Options There are 3 types of LPG conversions they are explained below Basic mixer system (or open loop system) These systems are the oldest and cheapest type of LPG conversion and are suited to older vehicles who have a carburettor engine. If this type of conversion is installed correctly they perform very well. Closed Loop system These systems are a big advance on the open loop system above and incorporate things like petrol start where the vehicle starts on petrol using the standard petrol system and then changes to LPG after about 1 or 2 seconds, They also incorporate a computer controlled fuel processor which helps maintain the correct LPG mixture, These systems are suited for all fuel injected vehicles that don't have advanced engine management systems like Active cruise control or traction control. up until recently this was the best LPG conversion available. LPG INJECTION . The next generation in automotive LPG It is only natural that the evolution of gas equipment should Now be represented by gas injection. With LPG sequential Injection the gaseous fuel does not require a mixer, but the correct requirements constantly determined by calculations carried out by a special ECU. The desired flow is immediately delivered by a device which reacts instantaneously to the ECU commands. This device is constantly changing to allow the correct metering as required by varying vehicle conditions. These systems can be fitted to any fuel injected vehicle even turbo charged or super charged vehicles.
